It's not his iPod determining musical classifications this time. No, it's his client-vendor relationships at work. Nice move, Guy!

About ABN AMRO

ABN AMRO was acquired by the consortium of Fortis, RBS and Santander in October 2007. The combination of consortium businesses with ABN AMRO will result in an enhanced market presence, strengthened products and growth prospects. This will deliver benefits to customers, who will gain from the increased scale and efficiency of the businesses.

As fine an example of corporate web site speak as you could ask for. We find elsewhere under future a hint that this lot are some sort of bank.

Why couldn't Guy say that in the edit summary? His edit summary is pure WP:OR.

Don't trifle with me, Rooty.

Not the best summary, no, but ultimately a good renaming is all I'm saying... rolleyes.gif

A company naming themselves in the style they choose isn't "corporate web site speak", it's them naming themselves under the preferred style and marks that they want to use. Totally normal, run of the mill, and patently boring everyday stuff.

Let's compare that for a momment:

http://factcheck.barackobama.com/factcheck...y_pfotenhau.php

Fact: Greg Craig is not on the Obama staff list

However: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Craig

That Wikipedia article claims he is.

Maybe one should find one Article that spells it "Amro" to make it apparent that what JzG did was OR. Otherwise, maybe one wants to agree that the Greg Craig as a foreign policy advisor to Obama is felgercarb! This is not only WP:OR, as this is also about WP:RS!!!! ⋮ ⋮ !!!1!11!

Er... a company's own site is the ultimate RS on their own NAME. If Starbucks renamed themselves to HOT BLACK STUFF INCORPORATED, all in caps, and redirected starbucks.com to HOTBLACKSTUFFINCORPORATED.COM and redid all their marks and branding to reflect that, and always referred to their domain in caps, then someone would have to redirect [[Starbucks]] to [[HOT BLACK STUFF INCORPORATED]].

I was referring more to the fact that the web site tells us nothing about the company in a very complicated way. To be fair, it is in its death throws, but text that bad must have cost them good money.

I'd guess they would like to style themselves as ABN AMRO, but actually, they will have to style themselves RBS, Fortis or Santandar. smile.gif

Just one article?

It would be so easy to torture JzG.

But it is listed a "www.abnamro.com" in all lower case letter. laugh.gif

Don't miss the point here. Someone still needs to fix the frak'n Greg Craig article. You say "a company's own site is the ultimate RS on their own NAME" and I'm sure Obama is the most RS on who is on his staff list!

I'm sure I'm the most RS as how to spell my daughter's name based on how I chose to spell her name, even though SirFozzie, Durova, JzG, and others laughed at me otherwise and even said I should apologize about it.

It is kinda what they did to me.
