Kate is a hot Australian babe in a pink tracksuit who has a birthday coming up. Her roommate decided to use facebook to organize a small party in their apartment in Adelaide, South Australia and said that people could bring friends.

On April 21st, David Thorne (writer) (T-H-L-K-D) sent a Tweet on his Twitter account saying :



The event now has over 60,000 people attending...and its very own WP article : Kate's Birthday Party (T-H-L-K-D), which has been nominated for deletion (of course).

The problem being that the article should be deleted now....but it's apparently getting some small mainstream press coverage.

Kate (whoever she might be...) might actually become notable because of this. She's certainly generating quite a bit of attention.

I'm simply pointing this out because it seems as if the rules of how "notability" is generated are being changed by these sorts of situations.

This is so funny. Not for Kate though.

It wasn't even Kate who organized this party. It was her roommate Poor girl.

If I were Kate, I'd do the same thing that people like Lindsey Lohan and other starlets do and try to get some discothèque or club to host my birthday party...

To quote the Facebook page:

Deleted now. Well, it was fun while it lasted. That should teach whoever it was to make these things private.

ED's been milking this pretty hard. And a Twitter search for "Kate's party" gives some pretty serious results.

I'm convinced that the mainstream media will be on this soon enough....That certainly doesn't mean that this poor girl has to have a WP article....

Yeah. Those people should be ashamed to think that humanity was filled with decent, nice people who would not use twitter, facebook, and Wikipedia to try and harass obscure, private kids who just want to have some fun with their friends without harming anyone else.

How dare those kids think they deserve not to be harassed maliciously by at least one guy who should probably have a restraining order put on him!

I'm convinced that we're at a point where anybody who gets the attention of /b/ (for being a hot chick or being annoying etc) can have this sort of thing happen to them. It's sort of like Andy Warhol's 15 minutes of fame, but on steroids.
