Stumbled across Elonka's old Memestreams blog today. Recently updated, after months of drifting rudderless.

Apparently no one saw the December 29, 2009 entry, with its link to a PRWeb press release.




She has been editing WP regularly this year, though not with the manic style of past years. Currently on break for a few weeks.

I'm wondering if Simutronics finally ditched her or not?......given that they nearly went under last year......

Waitaminute, she's saying that she was the inspiration behind a Dan Brown character?

I like Elonka but there is a great joke to be had here:

Well, I hate Dan Brown and I'm... okay, well I'm also Catholic, but it has more to do with the indulgent characterizations and the fact that most of his plots are the exact same with different character names.

I haven't read him. Are they actually pop-up books? Or are you being, like, metaphorical?

You could say that about most of the paperbacks in any drugstore.
Writing bad page-turners is a business decision. Besides, Brown correctly
gauged the anti-Vatican paranoid tendencies of Americans.

Now, will someone please tell me if Simutronics is still in business or not?
And why is the WP article still there? Would any admins care to go and
AFD it? After all, it's easy to prove that Elonka violated COI policies repeatedly.....

You were long past anything relevant before I came around, so, I think the feeling is quite mutual.

I've noticed the same thing with most of the recurring conflicts on WP. The basic plot is one of playing out dysfunctional relationships featuring mutual contempt.

This is one of the best and most rapid examples of thread topic drift I've ever seen. Congratulations to all involved.

Of course, if there's a WP:RS to support Elonka's claims, she's highly notable and we should start a WP article on her at once.

Elonka likes to make sure her and her family are well-represented on wikipedia. Her Elonka account created articles on at least 4 of her relatives, Rodryg Dunin, Antoni Dunin, Ron Dunin and Stanley Dunin. She also created the disambiguation pages for Elonka and Dunin surname.

Elonka is a founding member and current chairperson of the IGDA's Online Games SIG. One of her alternate accounts, IGDA (T-C-L-K-R-D) , created the article on Piotr Dunin, and also edited Rafal E. Dunin-Borkowski, Dunin (surname) and Elonka Dunin. That account was blocked because it was a "Spamusername".

Well, at least now we know what code she breaks most.

That isn't really a "code" as a "tool", i.e. CoI is easy to use when you have an enemy you want to destroy, but obvious ones like William M Connelly pretty much dominated for a very long time. I, personally, have no problem with someone with a conflict as long as they are abiding by the other rules, as having strong reliable sources and put up in a neutral manner without any original research tends to be solid. However, CoI is an indicator that someone might not follow the other rules. But plenty of people without a CoI ignore the other rules.
