It seems clear to me that Donny Long doesn't have the capacity of engaging a lawyer, but he's nonetheless spitting mad.

It seriously can't be much longer before someone barges into the New Montgomery office and physically assaults someone at the Wikimedia Foundation headquarters, right?

The thing is, he didn't actually make a "legal threat" in the real-world sense of the term - the WP'ers are ludicrously sensitive about this, and always have been. All he said was, someone please help me so I don't have to spend money on a lawyer. But hey, that's a "threat" as far as Wikipedia is concerned.

WP:NLT should be renamed "WP:NMOARTLM" ("No Mention Of Anything Related To Legal Matters") for greater accuracy.


Y'know, I didn't want to mention that at the time, but when they moved from Florida to California, they really put themselves in the crosshairs. It's true that Florida still has a lot of drugs, but WP probably isn't even on the radar screen of the average drug kingpin. (Maybe if they'd moved to Nuevo Laredo, TX, I suppose....) Whereas practically the entire porn industry is located in the LA-to-SF corridor, and there's no shortage of organized crime figures backing it, both financially and in various other ways. It doesn't take a keen observer to note that Wikipedia is basically a promotional battleground for the porn industry, and it would be a trivial thing for someone high up in the porn food-chain to send a few "one-percenters" to San Francisco to threaten the WMF staff in person over things like this.

Although it's pounds to pennies that the Jeremisteal account is actually Donny himself - I mean, look at its contributions. And what are the odds that Donny just happens to be on at the same time to revert him?

Now that would be fun, wouldn't it?

Someone needs to tell Orange Mike that Woodstock was 41 years ago.
