Meanwhile, Ottava is still the man to beat in the Miss Incongeniality category, with IronDuke and Tarc tied for second place. I voted for Scott for straight shooter (seems like a lock) and Giano for cojones de latón (mostly as he does a much better job than almost anyone at paying attention and pointing out problems).

Then cower at the thought that anybody in the real world might find them and punch their lights out for their online behavior. You know-- stuff they'd never be dumb enough to do in an office, or say in a bar.

Cla68 has been a stalwart foe of WikiKorruption for some time now, and has won the Cojones de latón honors for the past two years running. MZMcBride may have been a bit of a dark horse -- I haven't followed his exploits on-Wiki, but he clearly has many members of the Academy in his camp. Meanwhile, Georgewilliamherbert is putting on the steam, leaving Sandstein behind in the runner-up DICK contest. Could he still give Cirt a run for their money? And don't rule out the Climate Changers for tag-team -- they still pose a credible challenge to the Porn Protectors.

Meanwhile, the Vexatious Litigant event has got everyone on the edge of his seat. At the moment, FT2 has acquired a 1 vote lead over Abd and Baseball Bugs, but this race has been full of surprises, and no contestant can claim a decisive advantage at this juncture.

It's important to remember that awards pageants of this sort are never purely technical assessments of the contestants. There is always a generous serving of Tinseltown politics involved as well. Have you thought about getting a better publicist?

It looks like Cla68 is narrowing the gap with MZMcBride. If Cla68 crosses the finish line first, that will be an unheard-of 3 year streak, which not even David Gerard has attempted. The Vexatious Litigant race continues to be a roller-coaster ride, with our own Abd currently in the lead by a slender 1-vote margin.

That really gets me. Abd isn't really an "evil" editor, just very very longwinded. It's possible to have an actual sorta-coherent conversation with him. He may be vexatious, but he's not at a toxic level (unless you're foolish enough to start an argument with him about cold fusion....)

You can't have a conversation with Baseball Bugs. He's completely nuts, has Jimbo Juice dribbling out of every hole in his body, and will probably never turn up here to have a serious debate with WR regulars. AND he talks too much, albeit only in short bursts. Try posting a message on his talkpage, asking him to discuss any criticism of him. See what happens (or doesn't happen).

I agree. I rather like Abd, although his posts can be very fatiguing to read. I'm not sure that this new category, "Vexatious Litigant," necessary implies that the contestant must be wicked to win. We're in uncharted waters.

Know thy litigants, in rising order of vexatiosity:

• Abd just has unusually broad notions of what is relevant to a discussion.
• NYB just tries way too hard to be everybody's friend, to great waste of ink and electrons.
• FT2's prolixity varies inversely as his inclination to answer the (often simple) questions being posed to him.

Is it? Lar has 12 votes for being a dick and another 7 for being incongeniate. That seems to be a tie to my 19.

And that is considering that Lar had to "lay low" when he was an Ombudsman.

Yeah, that one was a little long. On the other hand, reading it wasn't mandatory. And people complain at least as much when we don't give reasons for things.

*"Vexatious litigant" is someone who files spurious lawsuits to distract or harass, and would to me mean someone who repeatedly went running to arbcom or XFD/DRV for no good reason (and usually lost).

What I think we've got here is an award for long-winded, off-topic, and tl;dr submissions. Or for that perennial non-answer answer, where lots of words are used as an alternative to actual communication. Or (as I said to Geogre in a put-down line I'm rather proud of) "the tendency to mistake verbosity for erudition."
