user talk:ChristainandJerichoSomeone want to walk me through what just happened? There was a big uproar about someone who claimed to be 13 being a member of the Porn wikiproject. But then he was unblocked and got a mentor.
Then he made a comment at AIV about a reported IP address being his school's, and suddenly the ban hammer falls. What were the admins insinuating that he was lying about? Do they think the IP's his home address? I don't get it.
This 13 year-old wrestling and porn fan was causing a potential PR problem. Having a known underage user editing porn articles and being welcome in the pornography wikiproject would make a very very small ripple if it got picked up by the press. The ensuing
discussions contains lots of comments from average wikipedians which would make that small ripple into a real story which would make WP look bad. Also, no one at WP wants to talk about the issue of underage editors because there may be legal concerns if people are knowingly exposing minors to porn.
For the record, ChristianandJericho is probably not an editor making a point, but an actual 13 year-old American in one of Vietnam's international schools who has inadvertently revealed a hot button for WP. I am sure that trolls will pick up on this and exploit the drama that underage users and sexual topics generates. Ironically, this may lead to restrictions on what underage users can edit.
