I found this book at a library and i vaguely recall the author's name as being mentioned somewhere around this forum.

What can i expect to get by reading his book about Web 2.0?

Not read it myself, but I gather that it's a perceptive criticism of the idea prevalent on the Internet that a clusterfuck of shitheads can do better than, or even as well as, someone who knows what he's talking about. Obviously, that applies in spades to Wikipedia, but I don't think he says much about Wikipedia in particular.

Well, people will eventually have to re-learn to show humility and understand that what they know is not actually that much.

In the meantime, keep those 18 year olds hooked to the consumer electronics toys and let them spend more time on social websites while taking philosophy classes and organizing revolutions from their comfy chairs.

Hell, yes. Keeps them out of mischief and stops them getting girls pregnant.
