Bill and Madge Webb stand Saturday in front of their 20-year-old century plant at their central Las Cruces home. According to Wikipedia, (www.wikipedia.org), the century plant is part of the Mexican agave family and blooms only once in its lifetime. The average life span of the plant is 25 years.
