This summer, Jimmy Wales, the 41-year-old founder of Wikipedia, showed a beta version of his new search engine Wikia. By the end of December the betastamp will be removed, but he’s already confident enough to promise the search engine will be better than Google.

”The whole Wiki-project is an open-source project. This means that there aren’t any editors that are deciding how hits will be valued — it is the users that are part of the entire creative process,” says Wales.
