The math does not add up and the project is not set up to make anyone any money.
That is ok, but it is not going to take on Google or MySpace or Facebook.
Major tax changes would have to take place and the foundation would have to make those changes. If he is "Emeritus" then he is out-to-lunches and outoftouch(s.)

Youve actually confused Wikia with Wikipedia. Wikia is a private company. Jimbo is supposed to be working there, and have no relation to Wikipedia (or Weeekeeepeeedia, as he pronounces it). Makes it sound like Leakypedia, lol.
You arent supposed to give interviews until just before the release, when you want attention.
Jimbo's intereviews remind me of how Britney Spears gave interview about her marriage, when she had no album coming out, which was poor marketing. Pros like Madonna, or Christina Aguilera only go on interviews if they have something to sell (or market). I dont know what such interviews gain Jimbo - either venture funding or ego food. Maybe both.
If Jimbo keeps this up, he's going to run out of gas. People will start to realize that he's the non-substantive attention whore that he is. Even Britney cranked out a decent album, a few weeks ago. But Jimbo didn't invent wikis, he just managed the foundation of a social networking site (called an encyclopedia) founded on one. He's getting people to bank on him as if he was the genius that the Google guys were, in terms of marketing, product development and timing.
What about this quote:
QUOTE
Wales told the gathering in Johannesburg:
“It’s not a healthy thing that power is in the hands of a couple of companies… the information needs to be out there in the public and people involved.â€
... because he's such a socialist, and doesn't want big companies controlling it?
NO.... because he wants the control.
YES.
