When I saw the words "Berkam Center," "Wikipedia" and especial "Deconstructing" used in the topic heading my heart leap with hope. When I immediately discovered that the person doing the "deconstructing" was Mr. Wales I stopped reading. The Berkman Center ought to ashamed. They will never be anything but shilling hacks.

I was also disappointed in the article. The content did not live up to the promise in the headline.

Jimbo is a Berkman Fellow.

Berkman Fellows are made one of two ways. Either the candidate comes to the Center and spends a few months in intensive study, then passes an exam to demonstrate the knowledge derived from his work. Or, the candidate is nominated by the Center and simply bestowed with the title for accomplishments elsewhere.

When I asked my pal Professor Jonathan Zittrain, "How did Wales become a Fellow, was it through the study program or the honorary title?", Zittrain responded that he will not comment on how Fellows have attained their titles.

So, you guess.
