Skynet's idea of "preventative action" is to send robots back in time to eliminate people who oppose it, before they become legitimate threats - indeed before they're even born, and before Skynet itself even comes into existence. Wikipedia's idea of preventative action is to complain about the behavior of "vandals" and "trolls" without actually doing anything to stop them.

Both techniques are, in the end, equally effective...

Heh.....just remember, Skynet was the invention of two Hollywood insiders,
James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. Cameron has a physics degree from CSU.
Hurd got a communications degree from Stanford.

And they basically stole the idea from Harlan Ellison.....

Neither Cameron or Hurd could be considered an expert on computer science or AI (a field that has seen hard times in the last 15 years). Didn't stop them from writing a popular movie about evil AIs.

For that matter, Cameron and Hurd also made The Abyss -- notorious for having more scientific inaccuracies than any other major science-fiction film.....there was an article written by an actual scientist some years ago, that took Cameron to task for making so many boners, but now I can't find it online. (And that movie won a Oscar for best special effects. Hollywood used to retain technical experts for productions like that, guess it's too costly and/or the producers have such huge egos, nobody is allowed to disagree with them....)

Just like Wikipedia, it's all just vaudeville.
And vaudeville patrons don't have high standards.

On the contrary it blocks "vandals" and "trolls" that havent actually done any vandalling or trolling.
