I'm going to make an educated guess that the 300 millionth edit will be at 20:37 July 2 2009 UTC.

321,000 by Rjwilmsi. Never seen him that I can remember. The only people on this list of the first 50 I've "noticed" on WP are: J.delanoy, Dr. Blofeld, Charles Matthews, Woohookitty, BrownHairedGirl, the massively stretched Nawlin, Everyking, Arcadian, Epbr123, and David Gerard. Shocking that in 3 years I've memorably run across only 1 in 5. I have to say that "Lugnuts" is genius as a username. It's like "Great Balls of Fire"-- nobody can complain without being accused of having a dirty mind.

Note an error on the list: Place holder is on there twice, at #22 and #29.

I think the "Place holder" is actually a legitimate "place holder," in that there should be a username there, but that person chose to remove themselves from the list.

I get so used to these wacky WP usernames that it's like racehorse names. After a while you just see a Placeholder

I suppose that if you keep out of the drama farms and spend your hours just correcting typos or adding assessments, Wikipedia is a great place for some obsessive types.

The top 5 have all edited in the last 6 hours. They never sleep, maybe.

If I am not mistaken, the prize for most recent edit in these top 50 is split between #1 Rjwilmsi, and ..... #5, Dr. Blofeld. Who really, really must be really, really pissed at Bond.

Of those 300.000 edits,

- 20% are vandalism,
- 10% are vandalism reverts,
- 20% are spelling corrections,
- 10% introduce spelling errors while claiming to be spelling corrections,
- 10% are pov edits,
- 20% are reverts of perceived pov edits,
- 10% create non-notable articles that get deleted,
- 10% create interwikilinks,

or something like this.

Changing "Place holder" to "[Place holder]" or something less ambiguous is on my to-do list.

That, and, y'know, fixing the edit counts to hopefully be accurate. Bearcat, for example, is listed as having 281,346 edits right now (using the metric that the chart currently uses). In reality, Bearcat's total edit count is 289,589 (279,580 live edits and 10,009 deleted edits).

It's hard to have a wikidick measuring contest if the rulers are all wrong.
