By John Donovan Money is said to be the root of all evil. I have no doubt that it is undermining the integrity and balance of some Wikipedia articles ...

Because of certain related matters, I am considering taking legal action against Wikipedia (which has been duly notified). Whether such an action will be practical remains to be seen.

Looks like a butt-hurt screed. Besides anyone who thinks the problem with the KKK is how the manage their internal affairs is a bit lost.

Well, the term "butt-hurt" implies a kind of anger that might pass or diminish over time, and this person is clearly obsessed long-term with Royal Dutch Shell and anyone he sees as being in collusion with it - WP is probably one of many such entities.

He makes some good points, but most people aren't going to get far enough to read them. To me, the real problem here is that he's invoking the KKK purely as an attention-grabbing strategy. He lost me when he added the "thankfully without the racism" bit - the whole point of the KKK is racism. A rational person doesn't try to separate racism from the KKK just to use them as an example of an organization that helps to hide the identities of its members - there are other, better examples that don't carry that kind of hot-button emotional baggage.

Oh well, maybe that's just what you have to do to get people to read your blog these days... but if so, that doesn't say much for the blogosphere.

I don't know about butt hurt, but that blog makes my eyes hurt. Why is Greg's comment in large, bold, and italic red font at the top?

He must have really, really loved my comment.

All I know is this... after Google and Bing, his site has been the number 3 referrer on Wikipedia Review's last 500 visitors.

Also it's a totally unoriginal analogy.

What makes it even more amazing is what they consider "mistreatment" — like any time someone tries to take a peek under their white sheets.

Violating the Honor Code of Hooded Authority is serious business.

Johnadonovan (T-C-L-K-R-D)

There might be "butt-hurt" involved. The author of the blog appears to have been indefinitely blocked from Wikipedia due to a conflict of interests and making legal threats.

BozMo (T-C-L-K-R-D)

BozMo is indeed Andrew Crates, but judging from his website, BozMo is a pretty nice guy and runs a children's charity.

No offense to Mr. Donovan, but ranting about Mr. Crates, comparing Wikipedia to the KKK, and glorifying Wikipedia Review (no offense to Mr. Kohser) is a losing strategy. Both Mr. Crates and Wikipedia are involved with charities, while Mr. Kohser is purely businessperson. In the end, most people are going to sympathize with charities than with businesses.

Sorry, but Mr. Donovan needs to rethink his plan of attack.

I think you might be giving undue credit in assuming that there was even a "plan" to rethink.
