I'll say... Is it okay if we just, you know, cheer him on from a distance?

No. He's a nut, and showing "support" for him will do nothing substantive.
(If you're "lucky", Shell's PI team will take a sudden interest in WR.
Do they seem like they might become useful members of this community?..... )
