All of you bloggers and term paper writers who use Wikipedia for research take note: it turns out it's full of anti-Christian and anti-American entries. That's why we have to say thank you to Conservapedia (and to Wonkette for bringing the good news to our attention). Conservapedia is a new website that explains its mission this way: " Conservapedia is a much-needed alternative to ...

I'm proud to introduce the first online "conservative encyclopedia you can trust": Conservapedia!
http://stacymalbon.newsvine.com/_news/2007...g-conservapedia
At first, I thought the "Conservapedia" was some kind of joke. Billed as a conservative rival to Wikipedia, Conservapedia would be an ideologically pure, right-wing online collaborative encyclopedia.

At least they're upfront and honest about their POV.
Iain Thomson, Information World Review , Wednesday 28 February 2007 at 00:00:00 For when facts are just too left wing Popular online encyclopaedia Wikipedia has a new rival in the form of Conservapedia , which aims to correct what it claims is a left-wing anti-Christian bias....

An alternative Wikipedia written by conservative Christians has become a major target of mockery on the web.

It has been attacked many times in its short life, most notably by a former aide to Robert F Kennedy and the editor of Encyclopaedia Britannica. But now the online reference site Wikipedia has a new foe: evangelical Christians.

In its relatively short life online, reference Web site Wikipedia has endured numerous shots from corners ranging from the generally staid Encyclopedia Britannica to a former aide of the late Robert F.

In its relatively short life online, reference Web site Wikipedia has endured numerous shots from corners ranging from the generally staid Encyclopedia Britannica to a former aide of the late Robert F. Kennedy. Now it's lined up in the sites of a new foe -- a group of high school students with a conservative and religious bent.

The open-source reference site Wikipedia has plenty of accuracy watchdogs among its millions of users on the Web. And that is an essential ingredient, the site’s advocates say, in achieving the Wiki ideal of comprehensive accuracy: In the past five years, a sprawling corps of self-appointed editors have made more than 100 million corrections to the site’s entries.

Wikipedia as anti-conservative? This has got to be the biggest crap I have ever seen. Wikipedia has an ingrained anti-left bias. This whole Essjay thing is an indication of that as it always comes down to personalities and nobody gives two fucks about politics or injustice.
It has been attacked many times in its short life, most notably by a former aide to Robert F Kennedy and the editor of Encyclopaedia Britannica. But now the online reference site Wikipedia has a new foe: evangelical Christians.

Conservapedia is a newly launched wiki which purports to be the Fox News of internet encyclopedias. I've been getting a kick out of comparing the entries on Conservapedia to their counterparts on Wikipedia.

Has anyone here actually read Conservapedia? While I have no difficultly understanding why many conservatives have objections to Wikipedia, Conservapedia is a sad excuse for an alternative, with special emphasis on sad. It goes well beyond the now infamous "Kangaroo" article. Absolutely craptacular.
So just what the heck
is Conservapedia User:JoshuaZ actually doing over there, anyway?
http://www.conservapedia.com/index.php?tit...rev&oldid=41538This one's actually rather funny:

Major kudos to those Republicans who have boldly stepped out of the party box and objected to the neo-con trend which has attempted to make "loyalty" the new "competence" and "conservative" the new "objective."

The mainstream media, or MSM, has been a favorite target of conservatives, but it is not alone. Welcome to the Web site Conservapedia.com, founded by Andrew Schlafly, son of conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly. The site describes itself as "a much-needed alternative to Wikipedia, which is increasingly anti-Christian and anti-American."
