A lot of the problems of Wikipedia date from this period. Larry (who is a pretty good philosopher, maybe not first rate) got pissed off at Fred's trolling and antics, and left to form Citizendium.

Bauder just continued the trolling, or rather formalised it into the early Arbcom.

Of my contributions, I'm partial to [[Peter J. Hamilton]], [[Richard J. Daronco]], [[Martin Manton]], and [[Samuel Mandelbaum]]. My DYK's were for [[John F. Davis]], [[Robert Smith Vance]], [[Henry F. Werker]], [[Robert Alexander Inch]], and [[Herbert Jay Stern]]. No brilliant prose, but some useful encyclopedic information, I'd like to think. If you want an Arb with mainspace edits (as if that's a proxy for quality article-writing), your favorite Arbs should be Charles Matthews (with almost 30,000 mainspace in the last year and less than 200 on RFAR), and YellowMonkey (with about 18,000 and only 80-something ArbCom edits). No one else is even close.
